Very Cherie-Beaded Jewels

'I've got the world on a string...'

Beads, beads and more beads... brilliant, bold, bright, beautiful beads! They glisten, they sparkle, they shimmer and shine. they come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and textures; round, square, hexagon, bicone, oval, paddle and dagger shaped. They also come in flower and leaf shapes and so many others. The patterns on them are bold, flowery and pretty, geometric, abstract or psychedelic or exotic and in all the colors of the rainbow. They are translucent, opaque, matte, textured, shimmery, irridiscent, bumpy. Beads can be made of clay, metal, blown glass, lampworked; handmade or machine made locally or in far away places like Europe, Asia and Africa. They can be strung on wire, silk, cord, leather, ribbon or embroidery floss or woven into beautiful, stunning jewelry. Beaded jewelry can be worn everyday to work or a fun day at the beach; an evening out or a gala event.

I am fascinated with beading. I find it so relaxing. Just stringing them or weaving, picking up a bead, another and then another - the action is so repetitive... it's almost meditative. As you add the beads and watch your design grow, the joy and satisfaction of seeing the end result - a beautiful piece of jewelry; that is so fulfilling!

Orbit Earrings - Sold

I found these beautiful lamp worked beads that looked like something from space -  a planet? My daughter called them Orbit.  I added the black diamond Swarovski crystal to echo the shade in the lamp worked bead and the four petal bead cap sets it off. They hang 1 inch from sterling silver ear wires.

Thar Desert - Sold

This is a beautiful necklace that reminds you of a sunset in a desert.

I had a photo of the sunset in the Thar Desert, Rajasthan, India.  The colors in the Unakite gemstone pendant and tiny round beads had these colors in them that echo the colors of the desert and the sunset, yellow, orange, brown, purple and the wooden beads had the color of the sand in the photo.  They looked so good together.  The little glass beads also had the sunset colors in them.
I've finished the necklace with a brass toggle clasp that adds to the warmth of the necklace.

Rosary bracelet - Sold

This wrap-a-round  Rosary bracelet is made with Czech fire polished crystal beads in beautiful shades of violet, blue and deeper purple.  The 'Our Father' beads are a wavy Czech glass bead in a shade of watery light blue that picks up the shade in the fire polished bead.  I've used a silver plated Cross, spacer beads and memory wire. it will fit a 6 inch to 7 -1/2 inch wrist.

I love the Rosary - a beautiful meditative prayer to our blessed mother.  It means so much more to me as my youngest daughter was born on the feast of the Rosary.  There were a lot of complications and  we all prayed the rosary for her and today she is a beautiful, healthy 18 year old - our miracle!

Jewelry Sale

I've been having a jewelry sale - open house  and so far I've done quite well! I have two more dates to go and hope to have some more sales.

Fleeting - Sold!

I love butterflies and I wanted to create the effect of flying butterflies so I hung them on a chain for movement with silver-plated earwires.  I added a sky blue Swarovski crystal; the pretty blue skies in spring or summer. My daughter saw this and  suggested I call it 'fleeting' because here in Canada, the spring and summer, the sun and the blue skies, seems to go by so quickly.
